Irene Yoshida Wins A $100 Foodland Shopping Spree
Irene Yoshida was not expecting to win anything last Monday, but it must have been her lucky day. When she stopped at Foodland to grab something to eat during a break from work at Wahooo Seafood Grill and Bar next door, MidWeek Kaua’i was there with one simple question, and when she answered correctly, Irene won a $100 shopping spree at the store.“I come here often because it’s convenient and all my friends work here,” she said.
Irene was born and raised on Kaua’i and graduated from Kapa’a High School in 1977. She is married to Times Supermarket employee Myles Yoshida, and has two sons – Keawe Higa, who is self-employed, and Kaha’i Higa, a senior at Kapa’a High School.
A Kapa’a resident, Irene is fond of “The Poll” in MidWeek Kaua’i.
“I always crack up reading it,” she said.
She also likes to discover what’s going on within the community through MidWeek Kaua’i and particularly enjoys the features about musicians, as she is a guitar and ‘ukulele player.
