Mercedes Omo Wins A $100 Foodland Spree

No one could be more deserving of a $100 gift certificate to Foodland than Mercedes Omo and all she had to do was give the correct answer to one simple question, which she did graciously last week.

A Kapa’a High School graduate and clerk for Kaua’i County’s Boards and Commissions Office, Mercedes has two sons, Jonathan (26), a Kaua’i Hindu Monastery employee, and Wendel (30), an Army captain serving in Iraq.

Mercedes, a frequent shopper at Foodland, likes to stop by the local grocery store as often as possible to pick up fresh food for dinner.

She also likes to read MidWeek Kaua’i.

“I like that it’s so colorful and informational,” she said. “The articles are great because they talk about the local community and you get to find out what’s going on.”
