Seeking Some Traffic Solutions
Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder why there is a car full of trash permanently parked in Lihue? I have seen this trashmobile, jam-packed with stuff and likely hundreds of creepy crawly things, for an insanely long period of time in the parking lot across from McDonald’s. I am baffled by this. I’d like to think there is a logical explanation for why it’s there, but it’s beyond me …

A fundraiser for Hokulea‘s worldwide journey is set for Sunday (March 29) at Gaylord’s Restaurant at Kilohana Plantation. Hula Halau Ka Lei Mokihana o Leinaala and kumu hula Leinaala Pavao Jardin invite guests to join them for dinner and a concert beginning at 4:30 p.m. in honor of Hokulea crew members from Kauai on the Malama Honua worldwide voyage. This event, “Na Hoku Kau Ahiahi,” was made possible by Jayna Marie Shaffer, who will participate in next month’s Merrie Monarch Festival. Donation is $75 per person, and $600 for a VIP table of six. The third annual Grove Farm Old Time Games, a fundraiser for Grove Farm and Waioli Mission House museums, is slated for Saturday (March 28) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grove Farm museum in Lihue, with games of skill, races, prizes, homemade food and entertainment from the 1800s and early 1900s. There also will be a miniature petting zoo, fortune tellers, puppet shows, a tinplate model train display, and a Vaudeville show at 1 p.m. All activities will be tied to the era when George N.
