WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas … the Player’s Edge!

IT TOOK HIM more than 400 hands in the tournament to win the coveted title of 2012 World Series of Poker Champion. The man from Maryland, Greg Merson, has the bracelet and $8.53 million in cash to prove it. Up next on the ex-drug addict’s agenda: He says, “I’m looking into getting into the biggest cash games in the world.”

IN VEGAS you will get arrested for that … We’re not talking about sinning in Sin City, where contrary to popular belief the world’s oldest profession is still against the law. And I’m not saying that the police look the other way … They’re just busy busting the real criminals – like the lady who tried to vote twice in the presidential election! We can’t get most people to vote once, so maybe it was a personal attempt at community service. Or maybe she was over-compensating for ED … electoral dysfunction. Either way, the law and the courts in Vegas are as serious as a heart attack – just ask O.J. Simpson, who’s still imprisoned there. Who was (almost) the recipient of this excessive display of American civil liberty? That’d be the governor from Massachusetts.

WHILE WE’RE ON the subject of public service, the gentlemen’s club Crazy Horse III celebrates the season of giving with the “Show Us Your Cans” food drive. Now through Dec. 15, they’ll hook you up with one on the house for a donation of five nonperishable food items. That’s one comp drink … what were you thinking of?

“GIRLS DO IT BETTER” … That’s what Tabu at MGM Grand is saying about its Sunday nights. The club will celebrate the Sabbath by featuring up-and-coming female DJs from around the country.

PASSAPORTO DI WINTER is the official name of the Venetian’s transformation. Beginning Nov. 18, look for concerts by Mannheim Steamroller, carolers, specialty drinks, treats, a holiday light show and the only skating rink in Vegas at the Grand Canal.

CONSIDER THIS: If you’re contemplating a move to the Ninth Island. Nevadans are more likely to die of cancer than folks who live in the neighboring states of California, Utah and Arizona. That’s according to research conducted by UNLV and the Nevada Health Department.

THEY’RE CREEPY and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re all together ooky … the National tour of The Addams Family stops at the Smith Center Nov. 20-25. Wednesday is getting hitched to a normal guy whom Morticia and Gomez have never met … neat.
