Twig Cable Is Also A Tripod
The Twig is an amazing new type of small cable for your iPhone. What’s wrong with the cable that comes with your phone? In my case, it’s too long and gets tangled and caught on everything in my purse. If you’re on the go, you don’t have time to deal with that.Twig features a dock connector on one end, a USB on the other, with two bendable prongs (which turn into a tripod when you’re not charging anything). You also can bend it to make an instant wall charger dock. Its compact 4-inch size and flexibility make it perfect to tote anywhere.
This is another Kickstarter project, and nearly halfway to its $50,000 goal. The price is currently $20 (kickstarter.com) with an estimated delivery time-frame in September. Just in case you’re not familiar with Kickstarter, it’s a website that provides users a place to post projects that are in need of funding.
Each Kickstarter project is independently crafted, put to all-or-nothing funding and supported by friends, fans and the public in return for rewards. Basically, if Twig’s goal is not met, then no one will receive their Twig. The pledges start at $20, but you have the option to give more (for more Twigs, of course).
Click Chick’s Mobile App of the Week: Futulele
While it may not be the first ukulele app around, Futulele is certainly the coolest one I’ve seen. Developed by Amidio, it looks amazing with Retina display support, sounds awesome, offers fully automatic playback modes, has a great interface, and best of all, it’s able to marry your iPad and iPhone by selecting the chord on your iPhone and strum along the iPad screen, just as on a regular instrument.
A special guitar-shaped case simultaneously holds your iPhone and iPad. Only one button is required to engage the automatic strumming, and there are 15 strumming patterns to choose from.
While you may not be as good as Jake Shimabukuro, you can still record your creations to a .wav or .m4a format with a simple tap. The chords are organized into chord sets, and it comes with 10 pre-defined sets. There are 132 possible chords, which is more than enough for any song.
You can find the Futulele app for $4.99 from the iTunes App Store. Also visit amidio.com/portfolio/futulele for more information.
