Jason Shimabukuro Wins A $100 Kmart Spree

Jason Shimabukuro was waiting patiently for wife Wendy to finish her Christmas shopping last week when he was randomly approached by a MidWeek Kaua’i representative outside of Kmart.

“You made our day,” he said, regarding the $100 gift certificate he was awarded after answering our simple question correctly.

The couple likes to shop at the Lihu’e store for clothing, shoes and canned goods.

“They have good variety,” he said. “And the workers are friendly and helpful.”

Whenever the father of three girls – Jaylynn (24), Jaysie (18) and Jaynna (15) – picks up MidWeek Kaua’i, he always combs through the advertisements and pays particular attention to the featured sales.

Jason is a Kapa’a High School graduate and works at Hawaii Gas Company.
