Laurie Macadamia Wins A $100 Safeway Shopping Spree

This week’s Safeway mystery shopper, Laurie Macadamia, already knew the answer to the simple question posed by a MidWeek Kaua’i representative before it was even asked.

The Kealia resident was thrilled to win a $100 gift certificate to one of her favorite grocery stores on-island.

“It’s where I do my budget shopping,” said Laurie, who loves the store’s weekly sales.

“The shelves are always stocked, and if I need something, they’re very helpful,” she added.

Laurie, who works at Walmart, also appreciates that Safeway is open late, especially when she gets off work at night. She and husband James, an equipment operator, have six children: Jameson, Jennifer, Natalie, Patricia, Julie Anne and Katherine.

Laurie loves reading MidWeek Kaua’i, and actually is responsible for putting it in people’s mailboxes as a post office contractor at Kealia.

“I like to gather all the sales and see where I need to shop,” she said.
