2012 Waimea Celebration Oc-6 Race
Kaua’i’s paddling season got off to an inspirational start Feb. 18 with the first long-distance race of the year at Waimea Pier. The race marked the 21st anniversary of the Warren Resquer Memorial Kilohana Long Distance Canoe Race, and brought together novice, open, mixed, masters and senior masters crews from around the island. Participating canoe clubs included Na Molokama, Niumalu, Hanalei, West Kaua’i, Pu’uwai, Kaiola, Kilohana, Hokualele and Kukuiula. To learn more, go to gicra.com.
