Durgh Kane Fundraiser
Paddlers from canoe clubs around the island braved a rainy day Feb. 25 for Kaiola Canoe Club’s Durgh Kane fundraiser. The race, with a 7-mile trek from Kapalaki to Ahukini and back, was followed with ono food made by paddler Pepe Trask. The event is named after Kane, one of the co-founders of Kaiola in 1985. He first began paddling with Kaua’i Canoe Club, the island’s first club, in the 1950s. To learn more, visit kaiolacc.com.
