Fun Meet Goes Swimmingly
More than 100 swimmers took to the water Aug. 20 at Kaua’i High School’s pool as part of the 23rd annual Mokihana Aquatics Fun Meet. The two-day event was bouyed by tradition that carries back to 1983 when the first event was held in Kapa’a the event’s home until 1992 when Hurrican Iniki’s wrath put the event on hold from 1993-96.
Swimers came from across the state to participate, and the field of competitors included athletes from Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, Hilo Aquatics and the Warrior Aquatic Club from the Big Island battling it out.
