Hanapepe Walking Tour
Residents and visitors perused shops and art galleries in Hanapepe March 18 as part of the town’s Walking Tour, which highlights historic buildings and sights. During the self-guided tour leading up to the weekly Hanapepe Art Night that happens every Friday, guests had a chance to sample fresh Kaua’i pies from The Right Slice, thanks to owner Sandy Poehnelt, and from Monkeypod Jams, thanks to owner Aletha Thomas. Meanwhile, Gail Sagucio greeted passersby from the shade in front of her craft store, JJ Ohana, which specializes in Ni’ihau shell lei, while artist Diane Wry and jewelry maker Veronica Groepler spruced up their digs with a fresh coat of paint.
Maps for the Hanapepe Walking Tour are available at most Hanapepe shops and galleries. To learn more, go to hanapepe.org/tour.html.
