Hawaiian Legends Concert
The Hawaiian Legends concert at Kaua’i Community College Performing Arts Center Jan. 15 was packed to standing-room only. The concert featured high-energy jam sessions with Dennis Kamakahi, Ledward Ka’apana and Nathan Aweau. The event – which was produced by former film commissioner Ken Levine, the Garden Island Arts Council and Malama Maha’ulepu – was dedicated to preservationists of the Hawaiian wilderness in loving memory of David Boynton and Gary Blaich.
In addition to their preservation work, Boynton was a well-loved local photographer and Blaich was a North Shore activist and the former head of the Kaua’i Public Land Trust.
