A recent outdoor hula show at the natural amphitheater at Church of the Pacific in Princeville attracted a crowd of about 700, including 95 halau members and volunteers. The show was a fundraiser by the Kaieie Foundation, home of the Kaua’i Heritage Center and Halau Palaihiwa O Kaipuwai under the direction of Kumu Kehaulani Kekua.
The program, which celebrated both hula auana (modern style) and hula kahiko (traditional style), also featured ono grinds and a silent auction.
