Kalo Festival
Waipa Foundation hosted its fourth annual Kalo Festival Dec. 7 between the shore of Halulu Fishpond and Hanalei Bay. More than 1,000 visitors strolled the numerous food and craft booths to taste and see what the island has to offer. Highlights included live music, hula performances, poi-making demonstrations and kalo workshops. While adults stayed busy with a recipe competition and a contest for the largest kalo, kids had fun playing makahiki games.
