Kaua’i Powwow

The Kaua’i Powwow Council hosted its 15th annual Kaua’i Powwow Sept. 27-29 at Kapaa Beach Park. The council’s purpose is to further the exchange of Native American culture with Native Hawaiian culture, as well as with other local Island cultures. Vendors and performers arrived from across the state and the Mainland. Dancers showed skills and grace, entertaining while educating viewers on their culture and history, while drummers played throughout the day in Native American, Hawaiian and Tahitian styles.
