Kilohana Canoe Race
Paddlers and the outrigger canoeing ohana celebrated the completion of the Garden Island Canoe Racing Association’s first race of the 2011 season at Waimea Pier. The long-distance canoe race, which took place last month just off the pier, was hosted by Kilohana Canoe Club. Though the race is generally a key event at the annual Waimea Town Celebration, it happened a week before the WTC this year.
