A three-day celebration of Hawaiian culture, Na Lima Hana (many hands working), was held recently at Grand Hyatt Kaua’i Resort and Spa. The event featured arts and crafts including lauhala weaving, pounding and stamping kapa with dye; lectures on medicinal plants, Kaua’i history, petroglyphs and Hawaiian language, plus a conference presented by the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association, Kaua’i Chapter. Henry Kapono made an appearance with the Kaua’i Aloha Festivals Royal Court, and the men of the Hyatt closed the evening with a hula performance.
