‘Never Forget Sandy G’ Golf Tourney
The Lawrence Mendonca and Dennis Cabral ohanas sponsored the fourth annual Never Forget Sandy G golf tournament Aug. 7 at Kaua’i Lagoons Golf Club. The event is named in honor of Sandra Galas, a mother of two young children who was found murdered in 2006. Her killer remains at large. The tournament was attended by Galas’ parents, Lawrence and Toshie Mendonca, and brother, Lawrence Mendonca Jr. Funds raised support programs at the YWCA-Kaua’i that aim to end violence against women and children. The Mendonca family is offering a $20,000 reward to anyone with information that could lead to an arrest and conviction of Galas’ killer.
