Opening Night Hawaii Children’s Theatre
Hawaii Children’s Theatre celebrated the opening of The Little Mermaid Jr. July 12 at its Performing Arts Center at Kaua’i Community College. The first of four performances held throughout the weekend involved 45 student actors on stage and 33 adults behind the scenes. Together, they had rehearsed four hours a day for five weeks to get everything just right. The audience’s enthusiastic response proved the show a resounding success. Next on the Hawaii Children’s Theatre calendar is Les Misérables, which runs July 18 to Aug. 4.
