Richard Savino and El Mundo

Kaua‘i Community College Performing Arts Center in Puhi stirred up a bit of sabor de Espana (Spanish flavor) Jan. 27, with a concert featuring Grammy-nominated artist Richard Savino and his El Mundo entourage: Lisa Grodin, Jennifer Ellis-Kampani, Adam LaMotte, John Lutterman, Paul Shipper and Nell Snaidas. The group played an array of archetypal Spanish genres, including early and middle baroque and a blend of folk and Gitano (gypsy) influences. Up next for the Kaua‘i Concert Association is the Hawaii Youth Symphony full orchestra, playing Bach, Masgacni, Prokovief, Verdi, Puccini, McKay and Louiguy, Feb. 10, also at the Kaua‘i Community College Performing Arts Center.
