Spam Is Key For Kapa‘a
By MidWeek Kaua’i Staff
As the Kapa’a High boys basketball team made its run at the Hawai’i High School Athletic Association Division II title last week, there was little doubt that the squad relied on a steady diet of SPAM.
After all, it was Spam Lindsey who helped propel the Warriors into the state tournament with his game-winning put-back layup with no time remaining in Kapa’a’s thrilling 57-55 double-overtime victory in the Kaua’i Interscholastic Federation championship game against host Kaua’i High School.
Winning the title provided the team with both the league title hardware as well as the No. 4 seed in the state tourney, and a first-round matchup with University High.
