Surfrider Foundation Membership Drive
Surfrider Foundation, Kaua’i chapter, held a membership drive and silent auction, “For Love of the Ocean,” June 21 at Nawiliwili Yacht Club. Attendees of the “friendraiser” enjoyed pupus and cocktails to the music of Goats with Headlamps. Surfrider Foundation is an environmental organization dedicated to preserving the ocean, particularly by keeping it free of litter and bacteria. Members and volunteers of the nonprofit regularly engage in beach cleanups and water quality sampling. The next scheduled beach cleanup is Aug. 24 at 9 a.m. at Hanamaulu Beach.
