“Uncle Buddy” Peters’ Memorial
Canoe paddlers and Alii’s of Hawai’i motorcyclists celebrated the life of Samuel Lani “Uncle Buddy” Peters April 16 at Wailua River with the first-ever Buddy Peters Memorial Long Distance Canoe Race and after party. Peters, the former owner of Wailua Kayak & Canoe, passed away last August. In attendance were wife Catherine and daughters Manu and Ka’iulani. The event benefits Pu’uwai Canoe club.
