Waimea Town Celebration
Lei making, poi pounding, an ice cream-eating contest and ‘ukulele playing were just a few of the highlights at the 2011 Waimea Town Celebration last month. Residents and visitors also perused craft and game booths and cheered on participants of the 34th annual Captain Cook Caper Fun Run, hosted by the Waimea High School track team.
The West Kaua’i Business and Professional Association, County of Kaua’i and Hawaii Tourism Authority again backed the celebration, which benefits West Kaua’i schools, clubs and nonprofits.
