Youngsters Capture The Flag
On sunny July 16 at North Vidinha Field, keiki in the 8-to 9-year-old division competed in a Kaua’i Police Activities League flag football contest. The explosive action pitted the Kalaheo Dynamite (pictured in maroon jerseys) against Waimea (pictured in blue).
The rules are simple: Only passing plays are allowed; no rushing the quarterback; blocking is prohibited; seven players participate per team on each play; and everyone wins because no score is kept. Talk about a win-win situation: kids learning the sport while having fun and staying active.
