A Mascot Role Reversal
Rarely are menehune associated with dominating warriors. But when Waimea and Kapa’a met in a Kauai Interscholastic Federation softball clash on April 9, the mascots traded roles.
The Menehune wiped out the Warriors in the doubleheader, 11-3 and 17-6, at the New Kapa’a Town Park. Kapa’a amassed 28 hits enroute to 28 runs over the 12 total innings played, and crushed four home runs in the process.
Thanks to the sweep, Waimea improved to 6-2 on the season while Kapa’a, despite racking up 19 hits in the double dip, dropped to 0-9.
