eye on kauai
By Daniel Lane
On Jan. 24, The Human Revolution took a few days off from the Mystic Island Festival on Maui to perform on Kaua’i. The five-piece band is promoting the release of its seventh studio album Small Town. Borrowing from folk, country and jam band genres, the songs center around modern life in small-town America, as well as life on a farm. Church of the Pacific hosted the show, and opening acts included local favorites Alessia Sanchez and Jim Farrell. MeanSound provided sound and dance music between sets. The show was the inaugural event for Ho’okui’i, a local company founded by concert promoter Scott Franklin Manning.
