Kaua’i’s best offered up their talents at a variety show fundraiser for Japan May 21 at the Kaua’i War Memorial Convention Hall. The event featured students from Kula Aupuni Ni’ihau A Kahelelani Aloha, dancers from Aunty Bev Muraoka’s Healani Hula Halau and Doric Yaris’s Halau Hula O Hali’ileo, along with music by Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho Jr. and the band 2nd Nature. Ono food was donated by Jewel Asai (of Jewel’s Snowie Shave Ice). Funds raised benefit Friends of Iwaki, a city in Fukushima prefecture.
