The first weekend in August brought the annual Heiva I Kaua’i international Tahitian dance competition to Kapaa Beach Park. Solo and group performers from across the islands, the Mainland and Japan pitted their skills against one another in a two-day competition that included hula, Tahitian dance and drumming. Meanwhile, vendors sold food, handmade crafts and jewelry, drums and wood carvings.
