Mokihana Winter Concert
The Mokihana Club, the oldest civic and women’s social organization in the state, held its seventh annual Mokihana Winter Concert Jan. 29 at Lihu’e Parish Hall. Starting off the classical music, which included Handel, Bach and Schumann, was Dr. Timothy Lee on piano and Dorothy Wu on flute. Lee, who has been playing piano since the age of 9, is a local ophthalmologist, and Wu is a teacher and writer with a master’s in music. Mezzosoprano Joyce Anglemyer, who has been part of the Mokihana Club since 1987 and studied voice at Juilliard, also performed. Proceeds from the concert benefit nursing education.
