IA ‘Bowl’-d Way To Display Sweet Treats

This week we’re making bowls from decoupaged tis- make it thick and sturdy. You can also make smaller
sue paper. Our project uses tissue paper scraps, but you could easily substitute it with scraps from magazines, newspaper or gift wrap. You want to have something that is not too stiff because you want to be able to wrap it around a bowl shape.

3. Working on a small section at a time, spread a thin layer of the Mod Podge onto the clear wrapped bowl.

1. Cover the outside of the bowl with the plastic cling wrap, smoothing out as best as you can. Fold the ends of the wrap over to the inside of the bowl. Turn the bowl upside down so the bottom is facing up.

4. Place the pieces of tissue onto the Mod Podge, overlap- ping the ends and brushing on more Mod Podge. Cover the outside of the whole bowl. Add another layer of tissue to make the bowl sturdy. Brush on another coat of Mod Podge all over the bowl to seal.
Let dry completely, usually overnight.

6. Trim the top edge of the bowl as needed. Use the bowl for lightweight items. Optional: Coat with a layer of clear varnish.
